Welcome

The Genetics Graduate Group at the University of California, Davis, offers M.S. and Ph.D. students a rich environment in which to gain research experience in molecular, animal, plant, and human genetics while developing into independent scientists. The group also participates in a joint Ph.D./M.D. program.

The graduate group unites over 100 faculty members from more than 25 departments spanning the College of Biological Sciences, the College of Letters and Science, the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, the School of Medicine, and the School of Veterinary Medicine. With the GGG there are five focus groups emphasizing training in the areas of Animal Genomics, Chromosome Biology, Human Genetics, Model Plants, and Plant Breeding. This provides an unsurpassed breadth of research and instructional opportunities from the most fundamental to applied aspects of genetics.
